The Corruption Cancer - Why is it Incurable

The Hot topic India now a day is indeed, CORRUPTION. But why are we continuously failing to stop it? Here’s why…….. The data presented here is all from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). The first set of circles pertains to the status of investigations by the state anti-corruption or vigilance wings under the Prevention of Corruption Act and relevant section of the IPC. In 2008, the latest year for which data is available, there were 8,554 cases for investigation across all states and Union territories. Of these, 7,292 were actually investigated during the year, while 2,543 resulted in charge sheets. In other words, only about a third of the cases investigated resulted in charge sheets as a proportion of the cases available for investigation, the figure drops even further to about 30%. The IPL Auction

I woke up today and read an article in TOI that Shah Rukh Khan is searching for a role for Ganguly to play in ‘his’ team Kolkata Knight Riders. This brings us to the question, why all this drama? The IPL auction was none but shocking to some extent. Players like Gayle, Ganguly, Boucher, Lara, Gibbs didn’t got sold to any franchisees. From cricketing perspective this is quite unexpected as the caliber of this players are beyond doubt. But are the reasons entirely oriented to cricket? No. Definitely not. Yes, of course, there are some reasons which are related to cricket like some of these players are not playing right now (Ganguly, Lara). So there is a considerable amount of doubt that they will continue to play for the franchisee for the next three years. And there will be the good old performance issue.
