A Political Cleansing

“I have dealt with many Opposition leaders but never faced such a leader like her who speaks blatant lies.” “Starting from Stephen Court fire to Jnaneswari train accident, Sainthia accident to Metro rail derailment; on every occasion she blamed the CPM for engineering this. This is absolutely absurd. What else do I call her except a liar,”-Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.

West Bengal, as I know it, is one of the most politically active states of India. Then, how are we tolerating this dance of nonsense theatrics of a directionless party which is constantly feeding us with lies? Let’s try to find some answers.

The people are the most important element in a democracy. Hence, if you have the support of the people, you have the power. But, the support that the parties (fighting to govern the democracy) get must be spontaneous. Spontaneous support can be generated by two methods-

1) REAL DEVELOPMENT IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE LIVELIHOOD OF THE PEOPLE

2) FEEDING THE PEOPLE WITH STORIES ABOUT FAKE DEVELOPMENT, IN SHORT AN EYEWASH

It is beyond doubt that the TMC and its leader are using the second method to climb to power in this state. Moreover, they are using their own unique trick also. Yes, that would be to stop any type of development works that is going to happen in West Bengal. APPLAUSE!!!

Firstly, they stopped the all-important SINGUR project with Land issues. Then, Nandigram, Nayachar, Haripur, and now even Rajarhat (which is by the way applauded by Union Finance Minister and Congress Leader Pranab Mukherjee himself).

And then comes the eyewash. The Opposition leader is the Union Railway Minister (Critics might say that she is the Railway Minster of West Bengal only). By virtue of this, she inaugurates new trains every now and then. GOOD!!! But are they really needed?? And what about the maintenance of old coaches and engines?? What about Railway security?? THE DOUBLE DECKER coaches…….are they good???

KOLOKATA METRO is becoming the thrill ride of Kolkata. People who don’t have Life Insurance Policies are afraid to board it. Of course, it’s a good initiative to build more metro lines in the city, but not for the cost of safety.

The Rajdhani express incident at Baruipara clearly indicated to the poor maintenance system for EVEN the RAJDHANIS. Kolkata Metro is short of extra coaches. The new signaling system, which is by the way excellent, is only good for the new models, for which the old models are suffering from a late run. The excess number of trains also contributing in this regard.

But, why are we not seeing these? That’s because we are only seeing what they want us to see!!!

Is it really possible? Yes, of course. This takes us to the all important topic of the role of media. Media has become so much biased, that it is helping to feed the people with lies they want us to be fed.

But how can one control the Media?

The works of the media (on the whole) can be described as ‘Unethical…but not illegal’. They just want profit. So, the involvement of big money can drive the media easily in desired direction. And then, if you constantly hear a lie 50 times in the tone and actions of the truth, even truth itself would seem to be a lie.

So, are we giving a true spontaneous verdict? May be. But the spontaneity which is generated by pure, shameless lies is no good at all. We don’t need a change. What we need is A POLITICAL CLEANSING which will erase these liars from the political map of West Bengal. Only the People can do that. I urge the people to use their resources to build their verdict. The truth must always prevail.
